BBQ Sauce is such a tasty sauce. It is sweet, tangy and sometimes a bit spicy.
Recent health issues have arisen and have reduced my diet of many sauces and seasonings. Needing to go Gluten Free and Dairy Free brings about many new avoidances. There are many BBQ Sauce brands that are labeled “Gluten Free”, but if it is not, avoidance is important.
Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis is an autoimmune disease that has been diagnosed in June. This disease results in fatigue, hair loss, weight gain, slowed heart rate, sensitivity to cold, and dry skin.
Dry Spices
- Smoked Paprika, Capsicum annum, is a spice made from dried red peppers that has been dried and then ground. The red pepper, that is specific to this spice, is from Spain.
- Garlic Powder has been very hard to come by lately in my local area. The garlic heads are either too ripe or not found to buy. Many times, trying to find garlic powder has resulted in leaving the store without. Instead of missing out on this important spice, I decided to make it myself. You can use a dehydrator to make your own garlic powder, check out the recipe below on how to make it.
- Chili Powder is not just one particular spice, but a blend of spices. Chili powder ingredients include cayenne pepper, paprika, cumin, oregano and garlic.
Ketchup
Not all ketchups are the same. Some are just sugar, and some are filled with artificial flavors and spices.
There used to be just typical ketchup, now you can find Organic Ketchup, Simply Ketchup, No Sugar Added Ketchup, No High Fructose Corn Syrup Ketchup, Siracha Ketchup, Jalapeno Ketchup, Chipotle Ketchup, and more.
