Directions for Teriyaki Sauce

1. On a cutting board, peel and then mince the garlic cloves.
Many years ago, this silicone sleeve was gifted to me by my sister, who then lived in Arizona. This yellow beauty is used to peel garlic cloves QUICK and mess-free.

All you have to do is place it in the middle of the tube and then, with the tube between your hands holding the garlic in place, rub your hands back and forth, releasing the clove from the skins.
It’s amazing, easy, and fun that you will have to fight it out of your kids hands. You’ll then have SO much garlic peeled. No problems there, right?! Click below to see the many color variations of this garlic peeler.

2. Into a medium saucepan, add the 3/4 cup Soy Sauce, 1/2 cup Water, 1/3 cup Brown Sugar, 1 Tbsp Honey, 3/4 tsp Ground Ginger, 1 tsp Oil and the minced garlic.
Instead of cutting the garlic with a knife, a microplane was used, and worked amazingly well!

Do you have a dehydrator? If so, do you use it?
When a recipe calls for fresh ginger, and you go and buy a piece to then only use a small portion, instead of wasting it, you can then process it to preserve it.
By dehydrating your own ginger, you then have the opportunity to taste what amazingness can come from FRESHLY dehydrated ginger. It literally smells like candy. Like limoncello. No joke. Click HERE or the link below to see how you can Dehydrate Ginger and save so much money!
Plus, if you have issues with Soy or Wheat, preserving and dehydrating your own seasoning mixes and spices can help you avoid those allergens. Most store-bought spices have milk and soy added now-a-days.

3. Whisk the ingredients and then bring to a boil covered.

4. In a small bowl, measure and add the 1 Tablespoon Corn Starch and 1 Tablespoon Water, then whisk to combine.
This slurry will help to thicken the Teriyaki Sauce.

5. Once boiling, remove the lid and cook for 1 minute.
It will look frothy; this is completely normal.
