I do not have Tick Tock; however, I do have Pinterest, Instagram and YouTube where these viral videos and trends get posted. And, as a self-proclaimed coffee addict, needing to try this Whipped Coffee trend would have to be blogged for all to then see its amazingness.
Now you won’t see me do videos or YouTube tutorials or Pinterest video pins, but I will take a ton of pictures of my making this coffee.

Just a Quick Pick-Me-Up

This morning, as I sent our four kids out of the house with my husband Tyler, knowing they were going to church without me, and sitting down watching church online, I just needed a pick-me-up. Why did I send them out without me you ask? Well, back in December I had a severe sinus infection, then in January I got the plague, and now a sinus infection is back. Along with the sinus infection that reared its ugly head, I was gifted with waking up with my left eye crusted shut.
That sucker was red and itchy and gross. Pink eye. Ugh. The worst of the worst. So, to isolate myself, once again, at home instead of enjoying the joys of seeing people, I treated myself with Whipped Coffee.

I remember back when our oldest son, Samuel, had pink eye back in 4K. He shared it with Tyler and I for close to two months. Not lying. Have you ever tried to put necessary eye drops into a 4-year-old? Yeah, it is NOT fun.

Needless to say, in straddling his little body with one of us prying his eyes open, we both got pink eye. Fast forward eight years now, I am praying that this ends with me and results in a quick turnaround of health. However, being on my fifth round of antibiotics since Thanksgiving cannot help.

Long story short, I am currently sitting in our living room, watching church and drinking this Whipped Coffee in my pajamas and slippers. Here is a huge shout-out to my mom for the Old Navy purple plaid shirt!

What will you need to make this coffee?

First off, having a good way to whisk the coffee is the most important element of this recipe. However, if you have biceps or forearms that can handle whisking in a bowl for ten minutes, more power to you! I, on the other hand, am just getting over the plague and do NOT want to waste my energy (prior to coffee of course) on whisking when there are other options.

Using my KitchenAid mixer and whisk attachment was just perfect for this recipe. It made short work of whisking the coffee for sure! Our KitchenAid mixer is beloved by our family, as it assists with dinner and food prep on an almost daily basis.

A few years ago, a good friend gifted me with a vintage white KitchenAid mixer that her brother and sister-in-law received at their wedding. She had never used it, and our friends used it twice. I was so unbelievably blessed she thought of me when they were wanting to re-home the mixer. As a result, in the past few years, it has been well-loved.

Below is a list of the ingredients for this Whipped Coffee Recipe and their cost.

2 Tbsp Instant coffee $0.48
2 Tbsp Sugar $0.02
1 cup Milk $0.17

The cost for this Whipped Coffee is $0.67.

That’s it! The list of ingredients to make this coffee drink are much less than you’d expect. Instant coffee, water, sugar and milk. Pretty simple! If you want to add coffee creamer or syrup, then that helps to elevate your drink. Personally, I added some caramel syrup on the inside of the glass. Not only did it look pretty, but it added a caramel flavor that was subtle and sweet.

Instant coffee, from ALDI, costs $3.85 for 8-ounces.

Ingredients

2 Tbsp instant coffee
2 Tbsp Sugar
1 cup milk
2 Tbsp HOT water
1 Tbsp flavored syrup
1/3 cup coffee creamer (optional)

ingredients for whipped coffee on countertop

Directions

1. Firstly, heat 2 Tbsp water in a microwavable dish until hot. To make sure there was enough water after heating it up, I microwaved 3 Tbsp for one minute and then measured out the needed 2 Tbsp once warm.

2. Secondly, in the bowl of a KitchenAid mixer, add 2 Tbsp HOT water.

3. Thirdly, add 2 Tbsp sugar to the hot water. You can choose to use brown sugar instead of white sugar, or whichever sweetener you use.

4. Fourthly, add 2 Tbsp instant coffee to the water and sugar in the bowl of the KitchenAid mixer. I had regular instant coffee on hand, however if you prefer to use decaf, go ahead and use decaf.

We are not typically fans of using instant coffee, but a while ago I did purchase a jar so when we accidentally run out of coffee we will not scream in agony or withdrawal.

For this Whipped Coffee recipe, instant coffee works perfect and is also recommended! And to be honest, sometimes if our coffee decides to be a little weak, I add 1/2 tsp to give my morning cup a little spunk.

5. Next, insert the whisk attachment, lock the KitchenAid mixer, plug it in and turn slowly to high whisking until stiff, around 3-5 minutes if necessary.

6. While the coffee is whisking, grab a glass and add syrup flavor if using. We had a bottle of Hershey’s Caramel syrup in the fridge that was just perfect for this recipe. To add it, tilt the glass at an angle and drizzle the syrup on the edges of the glass all pretty-like, then, as you drink your coffee, you get random drips and tastes of caramel. Yumm.

7. Then add ice cubes to the glass and fill half with milk or 1/3 cup coffee creamer if you are using it. This time I used milk, and not creamer, as the syrup will add a delicious flavor to the drink.

8. When the coffee has stiff peaks and fully whisked, pour on top of the milk in the glass. Use a spatula to help scoop all of the whipped coffee amazingness out of the bowl and then into your cup. Trust me, you will want it all in your glass and not washed down the drain.

Enjoy!
