These Apple Brownies are deliciously sweet, soft and full of apple flavor. Making them Gluten Free is not that difficult using a 1-to-1 Gluten Free Flour.
By mixing the eggs and sugar until fluffy and pale, you incorporate them together well without the sugar feeling granular. When the eggs are just cracked, they are bright. Once the sugar and eggs begin to mix, the mixture is bright in color. As the eggs and sugar blend together, the color gets pale, and the mixture becomes fluffy.
Equipment for this recipe
The main tool or equipment to use for this Gluten Free Apple Brownies is a 9 X 13-inch bake dish.
- 9 X 13-inch bake dish
- Nonstick Spray
- KitchenAid Mixer paddle attachment
- Spatula
- Medium Bowl
- Sink Colander
- Cutting board
- Knife
- Vegetable peeler
In addition to these specific equipment items, you can also use Parchment Paper to place into the bake dish prior to baking the Gluten Free Apple Brownies. Using Parchment Paper can help to release the brownies out of the pan after cooling and then cut.
Sometimes, Gluten Free baked goods tend to stick to their bake dish, so using the Parchment Paper helps to release the brownies in their entirety.
Gluten Free Apple Brownies Recipe
Gluten Free Apple Brownies Ingredients
- 6 Eggs
- 3 1/2 cups Sugar
- 2 cups Oil
- 2 tsp Vanilla
- 4 cups 1-to-1 Gluten Free Flour
- 2 tsp Cinnamon
- 2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 4 cups Apples peeled, diced

Gluten Free Apple Brownies Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Spray a 9 X 13-inch Bake Dish with nonstick spray and then set aside.
3. Wash the apples in a Sink Colander, then transfer the apples to a Cutting Board.
This is my favorite Sink Colander, or strainer, as it expands to fit most sinks. It is stainless steel, and thus dishwasher safe. Not only is this an awesome strainer for pasta, but you can use it for washing vegetables and fruit. Keeping food OFF the sink basin helps them to stay healthy and safe as kitchen sink basins tend to harbor all kinds of bacteria and germs unless cleaned thoroughly.

4. Use a vegetable peeler and peel the apples, then dice the apples with a knife removing any skins, stems and seeds.
Not all vegetable peelers are made the same. Some are incredibly dull, and some provide texture to the surface as the skin is being peeled. Whichever peeler you use, make sure it is sharp! This peeler from CUTCO is the best of my points on ticking off that awesome list. It is sharp, it is nice to hold, and it is a reasonable price.
5. When diced, 1/2-1/4-inch pieces, transfer them to a medium bowl and set aside.

6. In the bowl of a KitchenAid Mixer, add 6 eggs.
7. To the bowl, measure and then add 3 1/2 cups Sugar, insert the paddle attachment and mix until fluffy and pale, around 2-5 minutes.
When inserting the paddle attachment, or any on a KitchenAid mixer, make sure the machine is UNPLUGGED first. Then, insert the paddle attachment, plug the machine in and it is then ready to use.
8. To the KitchenAid bowl, measure and add 2 cups Oil and mix to just combine.
9. Measure and add the 2 tsp Vanilla extract. Make sure your vanilla uses vodka to be Gluten Free. Not all vanilla extracts are Gluten Free!
Last year, I made Homemade Vanilla Extract. As incredibly delicious as it was, it did not last as long as I’d like it to have done.
If you are interested in making your own Vanilla Extract, check out the post below by clicking HERE or click the link below. This way, you can make it exactly how you want and as much as you need! Homemade vanilla extract tastes SO much better than anything you can buy in a store that has been sitting on the shelf and potentially uses imitation flavors and added flavors. Homemade vanilla extract is literally just vodka and vanilla beans.
10. To a medium bowl, measure and add the 4 cups 1-to-1 Gluten Free Flour, 2 teaspoons Baking Powder, 2 teaspoons Cinnamon and 1 teaspoon Salt, whisk to mix and set aside.
I Use Bob’s Red Mill 1-to-1 Gluten Free Flour. This blend works great for many recipes like pancakes, sauces, doughs and more. Place a mesh strainer in the bowl and then add the ingredients. Then, sift the dry ingredients together.

11. Add half of the dry ingredients to the wet and mix until just combined. Make sure to not overmix.

12. Add the remaining dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
13. Stir in the diced apples to the batter with a spatula.

14. Transfer the mixture to the prepared bake dish, then bake the Apple Brownies in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
15. Remove from the oven and let the Gluten Free Apple brownies cool completely, then cut and serve.
Make sure that you check on these Gluten Free Apple Brownies at around 40 minutes, as cooking with Gluten Free Flours can alter the cooking time. To check for doneness, use a knife or a toothpick and insert it to the center of the pan. If the toothpick comes out clean, they are done!
