For the first attempt at Gluten-Free Pizza Crust, this recipe was pretty much a win.

Why Gluten-Free Crust?

As far as written recipes go, this wasn’t written or made from any other recipe. It was based off my traditional Pizza Crust recipe. Check it out by clicking HERE or the link below.

Results and Changes

Recently, a health scare and news has brought me to needing to be Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free. Taking a traditional Pizza Crust recipe and altering it to fit this new diet will for sure take time to perfect. Because I do believe my Pizza Crust recipe was quite perfect.

This Gluten-Free Pizza Crust recipe turned out surprisingly well, all things considered. It wasn’t dry or flaky, it wasn’t tasteless or bland. The result was slightly gummy but held together surprisingly well.

One thing I would change, is to prebake the crust for at least 5 minutes prior to topping it and finish cooking it.

Instead of paying $7.00 for a store-bought pre-packaged box, this was the closest thing to make on the fly.

Types of Gluten-Free Flour

There are many Gluten-Free Flour options available on the market recently. Some of them include Tapioca Flour, Almond Flour, Coconut Flour, Oat Flour, Einkorn Flour and many more. For this recipe, Casava Flour was used to make this Gluten-Free Pizza Crust.

Gluten-Free Pizza Crust

This Gluten-Free Pizza Crust was firm and soft with a nice flavor. Keeping the sauce 1-inch from the edge helped to make a crust to hold. The crumb was soft and moist without being overly crumbly.
