In the bowl of your mixer, or a large bowl, pour 1 cup corn meal.
Then add 1 cup flour to the bowl.
Measure out 2-4 Tablespoons sugar and then add it to the bowl.
Add 1/2 teaspoon salt to the bowl.
Then add 4 teaspoons baking powder to the bowl and turn your mixer on low to combine all ingredients.
Measure and pour 1 cup milk into the dry ingredients and then mix to combine.
Measure and then add oil to the KitchenAid mixer bowl, mix to combine.
Add the egg and then mix to combine.
On a cutting board, cut the hot dogs in 4 pieces, small enough to fit into the mini muffin tins.
Spray the mini muffin tin with nonstick spray.
Place one piece of hot dog into each muffin tin hole.
Use a spoon or small scoop to add corn bread mixture into each muffin tin, on top of each hot dog.
Bake the Corn Dog Muffins until just browned, around 10-12 minutes.
Remove the muffin tin from the oven and let the Corn Dog Muffins cool for 2 minutes in the tin, then remove the muffins and cool on a rack before serving.
