Snack, breakfast or afternoon snack. Granola bars are perfect for any time of the day. However, when you have four kids and a husband, buying a box of granola bars ends in disappointment when they are gone in two days.

These Chewy Oats and Honey granola bars are simply divine. Sweet and savory with a chewy bite. It will be hard to not eat them in just two days.

However, the cost to keep buying Gluten Free granola bars from the store is steep. Like, doubled what they were 10 years ago steep. Every time, in the granola bar aisle, shock disrupts my thoughts as I try to process how much granola bars will add to our ever-growing grocery budget.

What is a simple solution? Make them yourself, at home, from scratch. Voila!

These granola bars are special though, because this recipe uses Gluten Free ingredients to help make these granola bars safe for the gluten sensitive and more.

Which ingredients are Gluten Free?

Within this recipe, there are a handful of different ingredients that are needing to be Gluten Free to make this recipe GF.

What are they?

  • Old Fashioned Oats
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Crispy Rice Cereal
  • Flour

There are many Gluten Free flours to pick from. Bob’s Red Mill has an excellent 1-to-1 flour blend that is great for baking. From that brand, Sorghum flour was used and it worked beautifully.

Not all vanilla extracts are gluten free. Make sure you check your label to guarantee it is gluten free.

These four ingredients are the ones you need to make sure are GLUTEN FREE while making this recipe. However, you can make these granola bars in the traditional sense by using the recipe below. These Chewy Oats and Honey Granola Bars taste exactly the same as the Gluten Free ones made just today.
