These Chewy Oats and Honey granola bars are simply divine. Sweet and savory with a chewy bite. It will be hard to not eat them in just two days.

However, the cost to keep buying these granola bars is steep. Like, doubled what they were 10 years ago steep. Every time, in the granola bar aisle, shock disrupts my thoughts as I try to process how much granola bars will add to our ever-growing grocery budget.

What is a simple solution? Make them yourself, at home, from scratch. Voila!

These granola bars are special though, because this recipe uses Gluten Free ingredients to help make these granola bars safe for the gluten sensitive and more.

Which ingredients are Gluten Free?

Within this recipe, there are a handful of different ingredients that are needing to be Gluten Free to make this recipe GF.

What are they?

  • Old Fashioned Oats
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Crispy Rice Cereal
  • Flour

These four ingredients are the ones you need to make sure are GLUTEN FREE while making this recipe. However, you can make these granola bars in the traditional sense by using the recipe below. These Chewy Oats and Honey Granola Bars taste exactly the same as the Gluten Free ones made just today.

Gluten Free Granola Bars Recipe

Gluten Free Granola Bars Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups Gluten Free Old Fashioned Oats
  • 3/4 cups Crispy Rice Cereal Gluten Free
  • 2/3 cup Gluten Free Flour
  • 3/4 tsp Salt
  • 3/4 tsp Baking Soda
  • 3 Tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1/3 cups Coconut Oil
  • 2/3 cups Honey
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract

Equipment Needed

  • Measuring cups microwave save
  • Baking Sheet rimmed
  • Parchment Paper
  • Spatula
  • Large Bowl
  • Measuring spoons

Gluten Free Granola Bars Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and then set aside.

To a large bowl, measure and then add 3 1/2 cups Gluten Free Old Fashioned Oats.

Measure and then add 3/4 cups Gluten Free Crispy Rice Cereal.

Measure and then add 2/3 cups Gluten Free Flour.

Measure and then add 3 Tbsp Brown Sugar.

Measure and then add 3/4 tsp Salt.

Measure and then add 3/4 tsp Baking Soda.

To a microwave safe measuring cup, add 1/3 cups Coconut Oil. Then microwave the coconut oil until it is melted, around 1-1 1/2 minutes.

Once melted, add 2/3 cups Honey to the Coconut Milk and stir well with a whisk.

Measure and then add 2 tsp Vanilla Extract to the Coconut and Honey mixture, then stir well.

Once mixed, pour the Coconut mixture into the large bowl with the dry ingredients.

With a large spatula, mix the wet ingredients into the dry until they are incorporated well.

Turn out the mixture into the parchment lined prepared baking sheet.

Use a flat-bottomed pan to smash down the ingredients in the baking sheet.

Bake the Gluten Free Granola Bars

Bake the Gluten Free Oats and Honey Granola Bars for 22 minutes.

When done, remove the baking sheet from the oven and use the flat-bottomed pan to once again, smash the ingredients flat. Then let the bars rest to cool for 5 minutes.

Once cooled, lift the parchment paper and granola bars out of the baking sheet and transfer them to a cooling rack to cool completely.

Once cooled, use a knife to cut the Gluten Free Granola Bars. The cuts don’t have to be perfect!

How to Store the Granola Bars

These Gluten Free Granola Bars can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. They will stay fresh and chewy and delicious.

You can also choose to freeze them in a freezer-safe container or bag. When you want to enjoy them, remove one or a few from the freezer and let them thaw to room temperature before enjoying.
