Recipe for Tzatziki Sauce
Ingredients for Tzatziki Sauce
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
1 Garlic Clove
3/4 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
1/2 Cucumber
3 Tbsp Fresh Mint
1 Tbsp Fresh Parsley
3/8 tsp Salt

Directions for Tzatziki Sauce
1. In a small bowl, measure and then add the 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice.

2. On a cutting board, mince the garlic and add it to the lemon juice and let it stand for 10 minutes.
Instead of a knife to mince the garlic, a microplane was used to mince the garlic.

3. Measure and add the 3/4 cup Plain Greek Yogurt and whisk it into the lemon juice until combined.

4. Wash and then peel a cucumber.

5. On a cutting board, cut the cucumber in half lengthwise and then use a spoon and scoop out the seeds.

6. Using a box shredder, shred the cucumber and add it to the small bowl, then mix it well to combine.

7. Add the minced fresh parsley and fresh minced mint and stir well to combine, if using.
I used dried parsley and stirred it into the Greek Yogurt mixture.

8. Measure and then add the 3/8 tsp salt to the bowl.

9. Stir well and then cover the bowl and rest in the refrigerator until needed.

What to use this Tzatziki Sauce for? For dinner we had Gyros, and this sauce was the most amazing addition to top on shaved beef and nestled in a fluffy and soft Pita Bread. Click the link below for my blog on how to make your own Pita Bread!
